Dallas Symphony Musicians

Just a few of the 120+ portraits taken of the DSO musicians over the last year. Many classical musicians don’t enjoy having their photos taken in a studio/photoshoot environment, it is of outside of their comfort zone. In contrast, put them onstage and ask them to play, then it becomes a whole different story. Even though these were traditional shots of the musicians, I think that by photographing them on stage in their normal environment it relaxed them just enough to get some very authentic expressions. Over the last 3 years that we have been photographing the DSO we have become good friends with several of the members and I also believe that helps with the trust of all the musicians.
