Alyson is an award-winning multi-medium artist, classical violinist, farmer, educator, and friend.
We went to the same high school in southern Quebec and both had a wonderful art teacher that instilled in us a love of fine art. We still talk about him fondly. Since 2008 Alyson has focussed on painted paper collage as her medium with her rural surroundings as her subject. I was immediately drawn to her whimsical sheep portraits and asked if I could come over when I was home in Quebec visiting family to film and interview her. At the time I just wanted to practice this new skill I was developing and I hoped it was also a way to help promote a friend and fellow artist.
